National Geographic Top Ten Travel Destinations
One of the annual articles in National Geographic magazine is a must read for all national and world travelors. Right in line with the magazines NCHE (geography), the article offers a list of the top ten travel sites in the world.
The article list all the factors that most tourist would be interested in knowing before they make their vacation plans: climate, scenery, history, economics, politics, etc.
The destinations that have made it into the list are like a “what’s hot” list for any travelor. Sites have included locals such as Kyoto, Japan; Kruger, South Africa, the Scottish Highlands, and two of my favorite: Quebec City and the Rocky Mountains in Canada.
Canada is a beautiful country – and the Canadian Rockies (I spent a summer there) are siimply breathtaking in their majestic spender. Four National Parks in line up in a row in the Rocky Mountain range of Canada, emcompasing parts of two provinces: Alberta and British Columbia. Combined, My favorite is Banff, just a short drive from from the city of Calgary. Banff contains a beautiful glacier. As a “Florida Boy,” seeing this site was a special treat.
Their are lots of tourist traps around the world and across our country. You can rest assured, however, that National Geographic magazing will never feature any of these in their top ten list. Instead, National Geographic will share information about the best cities and most beautiful geographic formations in the world.
Go to your local bookstore or library and check out the issue of National Geographic with their top ten list of travel destinations. Better yet, get a subscription to National Geographic today and enjoy the pleasure of a year-round education.
